No matter what you have heard or read about TIMBERCOAST and our mission, we want you to know that the AVONTUUR is not your conventional ship and sailing and working on board is not just an ordinary holiday trip. We are on a mission to show the world that clean sea transport is possible and necessary. Furthermore, we want to make people think and reflect about the\u00a0consequences\u00a0of our life style, our consumption, and the\u00a0consequences\u00a0of the pursuit of constant growth. In other words, we are not just sailing a traditional schooner for the sake of tradition and every person on board is regarded as full member of the crew who should know what is expected of her or him.<\/p>\n

All crew members on board are required to support the mission with their work, their conviction, and their heart. In every port we call, we are the ambassadors of a mission that we carry into the world on board the AVONTUUR. We cross the ocean on a sailing ship without leaving a trace, nothing but the wake of the ship.<\/p>\n

In port every one of the crew leaves a lot more. We leave behind people who have seen that we are concerned about our future, the future of our oceans, our environment, and our world. We leave behind a very positive message that is hopefully carried on by all those we have inspired by our feat!<\/p>\n

Our Current Sailing Cargo Voyage + Special Events<\/h1><\/div><\/div>[vc_empty_space][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][vc_single_image image=”12550″ css=””][vc_column_text css=””]<\/p>\n

This time, our 16th sailing voyage leads us to a special destination: <\/span>the UN Climate Conference COP30 in Bel\u00e9m, Brazil<\/strong>.<\/span>
\n<\/span>We\u2019re not just attending \u2013 we\u2019re sailing there to make a point: that clean transport is not only necessary, but possible. Each mile under sail is a call for a fairer, slower, and fossil-free trade.<\/span><\/p>\n

For almost nine years now, we\u2019ve stayed true to this course: Mission Zero.<\/span><\/strong>
\n<\/span>We believe that if we talk about climate goals, we must also talk about shipping.<\/span>
\n<\/span>And we say it clearly: <\/span>Planet. Nature. Economy \u2013 in that order.<\/span><\/p>\n

A second special feature this year: unlike past voyages,<\/span> we\u2019ll stay in the Caribbean and operate as a tramp vessel between the Windward and Leeward Islands \u2013 loading cargo \u00a0based on what we find or are offered.<\/span>
\n<\/span>By April\/May we\u2019ll sail on to Central America to load coffee, cocoa and more for our long-time customers \u2013 returning to Europe in summer 2026.<\/span><\/p>\n
