For a long time there were little news from us, as the COVID-19 pandemic did not leave Timbercoast unscathed.\u00a0 There have been a lot of unanticipated changes and obstacles to overcome that have affected our course, and some of the effects are still noticeable. But we are keeping the course and we don\u2019t give up!<\/p>\n

AVONTUUR on her way to Europe<\/h3>\n

Currently, our cargo ship, loaded with organic fair trade coffee from Honduras and Mexico, cocoa from Belize, as well as the best rum from the Caribbean, is in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. The next destination will be the Azores, before crew and cargo return to Hamburg in mid-June to complete what is now our sixth major voyage.<\/p>\n

Smudo and the captain<\/h3>\n

In the SWR programme “Sag die Wahrheit” (“Tell the truth”) from May 3rd, 2021, Smudo, among others, tries to figure out which of the three personalities presented to him would be our captain. An entertaining and, in our opinion, successful contribution that can still be seen in the SWR media library for a while.<\/p>\n

New cargo sail voyages and sailing schedules online!<\/h3>\n

After long planning and countless zoom meetings, the time has finally come: our sailing schedules for the next voyages of AVONTUUR from the end of July 2021 are up and running. We are looking forward to many new shipmates and familiar crew faces, new ports and cargo partners in this and the next year. A mid-Atlantic New Year\u2019s Eve? No problem! Team Timbercoast gets a new member<\/h3>\n

Since the beginning of May, Daniel from Hamburg has joined our team.<\/p>\n

“Before I started at Timbercoast, I worked in a specialist shop for spirits and cigars in Berlin. I originally come from Buchholz\/Nordheide, first studied Protestant Theology in Heidelberg and Paris, and then performed as a classical tenor in numerous places. During my time in Berlin, I finally discovered the project at a rum trade fair, and it hasn’t let me go since.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n
